National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula recently engaged residents of Gesieka in Kitutu Chache North Constituency, Kisii County, in a series of rallies aimed at mobilizing support for President William Ruto's 2027 re-election campaign.
During the gatherings, Wetang'ula emphasized the significance of the government's proposed Infrastructure Fund and Sovereign Wealth Fund. He described these initiatives as transformative reforms designed to accelerate Kenya's economic growth by funding critical projects in roads, energy, water, housing, and other public infrastructure.
"These funds will not only finance vital infrastructure but also ensure prudent investment of national resources to secure Kenya's future," Wetang'ula stated. He urged both leaders and citizens to back these reforms, highlighting their potential to foster inclusive growth, generate employment, and promote equitable development across all regions.
Focus on Kisii's Agricultural Potential
Wetang'ula also spotlighted Kisii County's role as a key agricultural hub, known for producing bananas, coffee, tea, and sugarcane. He noted the Ruto administration's shift from subsidy-based support towards strategies that increase agricultural productivity, improve farmers' earnings, and enhance national food security.
The rallies attracted hundreds of participants, reflecting strong local support for the President's agenda and the initiatives championed by Wetang'ula.
