During a church service at AIC Watuka in Mbooni Constituency, Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly mobilizing political opposition against President William Ruto.
Mutuse highlighted President Ruto's loyalty to Uhuru throughout his presidency, noting Ruto's instrumental role in Uhuru's 2013 election and 2017 re-election campaigns. He described it as unfair for Uhuru to now oppose the current administration.
"President Ruto stood with Uhuru when many doubted him and worked tirelessly to secure his two terms in office," Mutuse said. He added that the Ruto administration is delivering development projects that Uhuru's government had not completed.
The MP urged the former president to retire with dignity and refrain from meddling in Kenya's political affairs. He emphasized that Kenyans elected President Ruto and that the current government deserves space to implement its agenda without distractions.
Mutuse also called on political leaders to prioritize service delivery over early campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
