Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi has expressed confidence that Kenya will experience peaceful elections in 2027, dismissing fears of electoral chaos propagated by some political figures.
Speaking during a meeting at State House Nairobi with members of the Friends Church, President William Ruto’s close ally Mudavadi highlighted Kenya’s strong democratic institutions as a foundation for a smooth electoral process.
Confidence in Democratic Stability
"There will be peaceful elections in Kenya, don't be cheated. Kenya has maintained democratic principles and President Ruto will uphold all those rights for all Kenyans," Mudavadi assured the public.
Strong Ties with Friends Church
Mudavadi, a member of the Friends Church (Quakers), described President Ruto as a longstanding friend of the denomination. He noted that upon assuming leadership, Ruto’s first place of worship in Nairobi was Donholm Friends Church.
He urged fellow congregants to support President Ruto’s bid for a second term, encouraging them to evaluate the President’s performance objectively.
Call for Support and Unity
Highlighting the Quakers’ values of integrity and honesty, Mudavadi recounted how his oath of office reflected these principles, clarifying misconceptions about the faith.
When asked if they would back Ruto’s re-election, the congregation responded affirmatively amid applause. Mudavadi affirmed, "These people have affirmed they shall work with you, they shall defend this Kenya, they shall maintain peace and they shall seek justice for all."
