Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has assured Kenyans that the upcoming general elections on August 10, 2027, will be free, fair, and peaceful. Speaking at Emusire High School in Emuhaya Constituency, Vihiga County, during the school's Annual General Meeting and fundraising event, Mudavadi condemned opposition narratives that spread fear and doubt about the electoral process.
"The Kenyan constitution guarantees every citizen the right to vote every five years. Those spreading ethnic divisions and fear are undermining democracy," Mudavadi stated. He emphasized Kenya's history of conducting peaceful elections and expressed confidence that the 2027 polls will follow suit.
Focus on Progress and Unity
Mudavadi challenged opposition claims to reverse government achievements, highlighting ongoing infrastructure projects such as road construction, health sector improvements, the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) expansion, and education sector advancements including teacher recruitment.
"We should question what policies the opposition wants to undo. Our focus must be on supporting President William Ruto's re-election and advancing our region's development," he said.
Strategic Regional Leadership
The Prime CS outlined plans to position leadership from the Luhya community for the presidency in future elections, urging unity and strategic planning.
"I am committed to leading our people and ensuring our community's interests are represented at the highest level," Mudavadi added.
Call to Reject Ethnic Divisions
He warned against ethnic mobilization, stressing that Kenya is a united nation and must reject divisive politics.
"Kenya is not a nation of tribes. We must be vigilant against those who spread tribalism and instead focus on national unity," he advised.
Mudavadi was accompanied by Principal Secretaries Jane Imbunya and Beatrice Inyangala, Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba, UDA national Vice Chair Kelvin Lunani, and several Members of County Assembly during the event.
