Mukurweini Member of Parliament John Kaguchia has publicly declared that he will not be intimidated following reports that police officers were attempting to arrest him after a television appearance in Nairobi.
On Sunday, August 2, 2026, Kaguchia posted a statement after featuring on Inooro TV’s Kiririmbi Show, alleging that police had surrounded the Royal Media Services studios and set up roadblocks with the intention of apprehending him.
"After my Kiririmbi Show this evening, a contingent of police have surrounded Royal Media Studios and erected roadblocks with intentions of arresting me! I will NOT BE INTIMIDATED whatsoever," Kaguchia said.
The MP did not specify whether he had been formally charged or if an arrest warrant had been issued against him.

Earlier on the same day, lawyer Ndegwa Njiru claimed that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) intercepted Kaguchia outside Citizen TV studios under unclear circumstances.
