Samuel Mburu Wakiora, a man from Murang'a County who had been missing for seven years, was recently reunited with his family following a road accident that brought him to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

On April 8, 2026, Samuel was transferred to KNH from Kajiado after sustaining injuries in the accident. Hospital staff were initially unable to identify or contact his relatives.

In an effort to locate his family, KNH shared Samuel's photo on social media. Chief Kinuthia, a local administrator, recognized him from the image and promptly informed Samuel's family in Makuyu, Murang'a County.

Upon receiving the news, Samuel's brother, Joseph Maina, traveled to Nairobi. The two brothers were reunited at the hospital, where Samuel immediately recognized Joseph, bringing an end to years of uncertainty.

This incident highlights the positive role of social media and community vigilance in reconnecting families separated by time and circumstance.
