During a church service in Mbooni Constituency, Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta for opposing President William Ruto's government despite the support Ruto offered him during his presidency.
Mutuse highlighted that President Ruto was instrumental in Uhuru Kenyatta's electoral victories in 2013 and 2017, describing him as a loyal ally who stood by the former president when many doubted his leadership.
He expressed disappointment over Uhuru's current political stance, which he sees as undermining the Kenya Kwanza administration's development agenda. Mutuse emphasized that the current government is focused on delivering key projects that were not realized during Uhuru's tenure.
Calls for Respectful Retirement
The MP urged Uhuru Kenyatta to retire honorably and avoid interfering in the country's political affairs. He stressed that President Ruto was duly elected by Kenyans and should be allowed to implement his development programs without unnecessary distractions.
Mutuse also appealed to political leaders to prioritize service delivery over premature political campaigns, reinforcing the Kenya Kwanza government's commitment to national development.
