A Nairobi woman recently shared a heartfelt interaction with her building's security guard after being away for over three weeks. The guard, who usually exchanges greetings with her daily, grew concerned when he noticed her prolonged absence.
The woman, known as Carpe Diem on TikTok, posted the WhatsApp voice notes she received from the guard, saved on her phone as "Salvator Sécurité." In the messages, the guard asked if she had moved out, expressing worry about her wellbeing.
He said, "Hello, I have not seen you in a while. Did you move out? I have not seen you. Do you still live here? I know you will laugh at me, but I am just checking in on you to know if you are still here."
Carpe Diem responded by reassuring him that she was only travelling and would return soon, with her belongings still in the house. She captioned her post, "Our security guard has not seen me in a while. I joke with him every morning and evening. So today I woke up to this... It's been 3 weeks+ Mwalimu is on holiday."
