Sarah Nana, a 22-year-old woman from Nairobi, has opened up about the emotional turmoil she faced after her boyfriend, Joshua, unexpectedly blocked her on all social media and communication platforms.
Their relationship began on TikTok and blossomed over two years, with Joshua, aged 25, showing care and support despite his friends’ doubts about Sarah’s age. Sarah recounted how he bought her shoes and covered personal expenses like hair and nails. She also visited his home in Ruiru, where she took care of household chores and prepared his favourite meals, reflecting a committed partnership.
A Sudden Silence
Everything seemed normal until August 1, when Joshua cut off all contact without explanation. Sarah described the shock and confusion she felt, emphasising that the hardest part was the lack of closure. She later learned through others that Joshua had started a relationship with another woman while still with her.
Going Public
The video of Sarah’s tearful appeal for Joshua to unblock her went viral on TikTok, catching the attention of YouTuber Oga Obinna. He invited her to share her story on his platform, Obinna TV Extra, where Sarah expressed a shift in her mindset. While she initially wanted Joshua to respond, she now focuses on healing and moving forward.
“I will cry and eventually heal, but I will not look for him again. I will find a job, take care of myself, and I will get another man,” she said with resolve.
