Residents of Rongai, Nakuru County, were shaken after a woman reportedly stabbed her husband to death during a late-night argument. The incident occurred around midnight, according to neighbours who described the couple's frequent violent disagreements.

Caroline Chebet, 37, is in police custody following the alleged stabbing of her husband, Alfonso Ochieng, who later died at a hospital. Neighbours noted the couple's fights had become so common that they rarely raised alarm.

"The argument started around midnight. Since they often fought, we didn't think much of it because it had become normal. After a while, we heard the woman screaming that her husband was dying. Later in the morning, we received news that he had died at the hospital," said neighbour Ochieng' Otieno.

Another resident, Martha Mchiga, shared that Alfonso appeared troubled for some time, often showing signs of physical distress. The couple had lived together for approximately two years.

Alfonso's brother expressed deep sorrow upon discovering the body at Nakuru mortuary. "I went to the Nakuru mortuary and found my brother lying there. He had a deep stab wound in his lower abdomen. Instead of meeting him alive as we had planned, I found his body," he said.

Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the death. A post-mortem examination is scheduled, and Alfonso's body remains at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital Annex Mortuary pending autopsy.

Chebet is expected to appear in court on Monday as the investigation continues.
