Ndindi Nyoro Demands Apologies Before Welcoming Politicians to People’s Party of Kenya
Ndindi Nyoro insists politicians who insulted opposition leaders must apologise before joining his People’s Party of Kenya ahead of 2027 elections.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has set a firm condition for politicians seeking to join his People’s Party of Kenya (PPK), demanding they apologise for any past insults directed at opposition leaders.
Speaking during his first major political engagement under the PPK banner in Murang’a, Nyoro emphasized that those still affiliated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) who have disrespected figures such as former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua must first seek forgiveness before being accepted into his party.
Conditions for Party Membership
- Politicians who insulted Gachagua or other opposition figures like Fred Matiang’i, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Martha Karua must apologise.
- Nyoro extended this stance to pro-government leaders who have made disparaging remarks about opposition personalities.
- Individuals linked to alleged deployment of goons to churches will also be unwelcome in PPK.
Nyoro clarified that his departure from UDA was not aimed at supporting President William Ruto but rather to strengthen the opposition's efforts to defeat the Kenya Kwanza administration in the 2027 General Election.
Call for Opposition Unity
He urged opposition leaders to unite behind a single presidential candidate by August 2027 to avoid vote splitting, stressing the importance of setting aside personal ambitions for the greater goal of electoral victory.
"I am asking all of us in the opposition, by August next year, let us have one flag bearer," Nyoro stated.
Through the People’s Party of Kenya, Nyoro plans to mobilize opposition supporters and expand his political influence beyond his Kiharu constituency.
