The National Police Service (NPS) has refuted a fabricated document circulating on social media that purportedly announces new Officers Commanding Stations (OCSs) for various police stations in Nairobi County.
In a statement released on Wednesday, August 5, the NPS warned the public against believing the unverified list, which included alleged appointments at over 30 stations such as Central, Kilimani, Kasarani, Embakasi, Gigiri, Kayole, Dandora, Zimmerman, and Githura.
The police clarified that the document did not originate from the service and does not represent any legitimate transfers or deployments.
This clarification comes amid growing public attention on police leadership amid rising crime concerns ahead of the upcoming general election. It also follows recent structural changes within the NPS, including the creation of specialized units like the Nairobi Metropolitan Police.
The service emphasized that all official appointments, transfers, or promotions are announced through authorised channels and formal statements.
