Police in Kayole have arrested four individuals and recovered 132 stolen mobile phones as part of an operation to dismantle a criminal network involved in phone theft and illegal resale.
The National Police Service (NPS) revealed that the arrests followed intelligence on a syndicate operating in the Nyaura area. Among those detained is a man identified as a key receiver of stolen phones snatched from the streets.
Officers also seized motherboards and two laptops believed to be connected to the illicit trade. The operation is one of several recent crackdowns aimed at disrupting networks that facilitate mobile phone theft and trafficking.

Authorities confirmed investigations are continuing to track down additional suspects linked to the syndicate. The NPS urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through toll-free numbers 999, 911, or via WhatsApp at 0709 570 000.
Recent coordinated efforts by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the NPS have led to multiple recoveries of stolen phones nationwide, including raids in Kasarani and Nyeri. These operations have uncovered workshops and retail outlets dealing in stolen devices, further exposing the extent of the illegal trade.
