Kenya Police officers from Cheptulu Police Station executed a targeted operation on July 30 at Musasa Village in Vihiga County, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of 560 litres of illegal chang'aa.
The raid, part of a nationwide intelligence-led campaign against illicit brews and drug trafficking, also uncovered significant quantities of bhang in various forms including bales, rolls, sticks, and seeds. Equipment used in the production and distribution of these substances was also seized.
All recovered items have been secured as evidence to support ongoing investigations. The suspects remain in custody pending arraignment in court.
Ongoing Efforts and Public Appeal
The National Police Service (NPS) continues to pursue additional leads to identify other individuals involved in these illegal activities. In a statement, the NPS emphasized its commitment to dismantling criminal networks and eliminating safe havens for offenders.
