Police in Kisumu County have arrested three individuals connected to a violent robbery incident recorded on CCTV, as efforts to apprehend a fourth suspect remain ongoing.
According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS) on Sunday, August 2, 2026, the suspects were seen forcefully breaking into a residence armed with pangas, metal bars, and what appeared to be a pistol. They fled the scene with various household items.
Details of the Operation
- The initial arrest occurred after police identified one suspect from the CCTV footage.
- Intelligence led officers to the Rabuor area, where two more suspects were apprehended.
- One suspect managed to escape during the operation.
During searches of the suspects’ premises, police recovered several items believed to have been stolen during the robbery, including:
- A toy pump resembling a pistol
- Multiple SIM cards suspected to be linked to criminal activities
- Tools used to break into the victim’s home
- Rolls of bhang concealed on-site
- A national identity card belonging to one of the victims
Ongoing Investigations
The three suspects are currently held at Kasagam Police Station as investigations proceed. The police have intensified efforts to locate the remaining individual believed to have fled during the raid.
