Traffic along the Sagana-Nyeri Highway came to a complete stop on Saturday afternoon after residents blocked the road in protest of a hit-and-run incident involving a woman.

Locals barricaded the busy highway demanding swift action against the driver who fled the scene after hitting the woman. The blockade caused severe congestion as motorists were forced to halt.

Traffic police arrived at the scene but were unable to immediately resolve the standoff as the residents maintained the blockade.
