Rigathi Gachagua Threatens Disqualification Over Disruptive Rally Incident in Nakuru
Rigathi Gachagua warns a car owner who started a vehicle during a DCP rally in Nakuru, threatening disqualification from party ticket.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua sharply reprimanded an unidentified individual who started a car during a Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) rally in Nakuru, describing the act as disrespectful and threatening disqualification from contesting on the party ticket.
Addressing the crowd, Gachagua demanded to know the owner of the vehicle, emphasizing that such disruptions would not be tolerated within the party ranks.
"You are starting a car in my rally. You will be disqualified. Who is the owner of that car? Are you starting a car in my rally? You will not be given a chance to vie on the DCP ticket because that is disrespect," he stated.
The incident drew widespread attention online, with video clips circulating on social media platforms.
Standing Firm Amid Disruptions
Beyond the confrontation, Gachagua condemned what he termed as "goonism" aimed at disrupting the rally. He praised DCP supporters in Nakuru for their resilience and vowed to overcome such challenges in the upcoming 2027 general election.
"Nakuru county remained strong and indefatigable despite goonism ferried by cowards, but we shall beat them in this election irrespective," Gachagua affirmed.
DCP's Vision Ahead of 2027 Elections
Using the platform, Gachagua reiterated DCP’s mission to liberate Kenya from what he described as a failing regime that has neglected the needs of ordinary citizens.
"We thank you for remaining strong and joining the rest of Kenyans in the liberation of our country Kenya. We march for Kenya, and the finishing line is August 10, 2027," he said.
He criticized the current administration for avoiding accountability and failing to address key national issues, accusing them of engaging in blame-shifting rather than solutions.
"The current regime has shown no interest in addressing these issues; their only approach is playing the blame game. Together, we will work towards making Kenya a better place to live for future generations," Gachagua added.
Since his impeachment in October 2024, Gachagua has been actively campaigning nationwide to build support for DCP ahead of the next general election.
