The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has named Ruth Kulundu as the acting Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Moses Sunkuli whose six-month tenure recently concluded.
IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon communicated the appointment through an internal memo dated August 4, 2026. Kulundu officially assumed her duties on August 5, 2026, to maintain operational continuity within the commission.
The memo addressed to all IEBC personnel specifies that Kulundu will hold the acting CEO position for a maximum of two months or until a substantive CEO is recruited and appointed.
