Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of her cousin, Job Odima Atinga, a former senior officer in the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
During a visit to Atinga's family in Alego Kakan, Odinga joined relatives in mourning and paid homage to his years of committed public service. She highlighted his career as a testament to integrity and dedication to national security.
Legacy of Service
Odinga recalled that Atinga served Kenya with distinction within the NIS before his last assignment at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Nyanza Regional Office. His work was centered on upholding peace and security across the nation.
“Job’s career was marked by courage and selflessness, reflecting a steadfast commitment to protecting Kenya,” Odinga said. She assured the family that his contributions would be long remembered.
Support for the Bereaved Family
Extending condolences to Atinga’s widow, Syprose Odupe Atinga, and their children, Odinga promised continued support during their time of grief. She emphasized that the extended family would stand by them throughout the mourning period.
The circumstances surrounding Atinga’s death have not yet been disclosed. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.
“Fare thee well, Job. Your dedication to this nation will not be forgotten,” Odinga added, honoring his service and sacrifice.
