In a message shared on July 31, 2026, following his national address the previous day, the President stressed that the country’s past does not dictate its future. Instead, the choices made today will determine Kenya’s trajectory.

The message highlighted that many nations have achieved remarkable transformation within a single generation and that Kenya still stands on the brink of similar opportunities. While the nation cannot alter its history, it retains the power to influence its future.

“History does not determine our future. Our choices do,” the President declared, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to sustained development.

He stated, “In several respects, we are still falling short of even the very standards we set out for ourselves. Vision 2030 set a target of Kenya becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030. So far, we are off target.”
