Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has revealed plans to launch a new political movement aimed at ending the reign of Kenya’s long-standing politicians and promoting fresh leadership. The official launch of the People’s Movement is scheduled for August 11, 2026.
In a recent radio interview, Amisi emphasized that the movement seeks to introduce new faces and ideas to Kenya’s political landscape, focusing on leaders who can deliver tangible results rather than relying on political longevity.
Championing a New Generation of Leaders
Amisi highlighted the growing demand among Kenyans, especially the youth, for leaders capable of driving meaningful change. He questioned the legacy left by some of the country’s veteran politicians, asking what concrete achievements they have made despite their lengthy tenures.
“Our generation is looking for leaders. There are leaders who have been there for years, yet there is no change you can point to and associate with them,” Amisi stated.
Building on Previous Political Efforts
The People’s Movement builds on Amisi’s earlier involvement with the Linda Mwananchi movement, which he co-founded. Although he remains part of that formation, he expressed concerns that it has strayed from its original goal of providing a fresh political alternative.
He explained that the new movement will focus on nurturing credible parliamentary leaders and restoring the founding ideals that motivated the Linda Mwananchi initiative.
