Preparations are underway for the launch of the People’s Renaissance Movement (PM Party), a fresh political outfit led by Saboti MP Caleb Amisi. The party’s unveiling is scheduled for August 11 at the A.S.K Dome within the ASK Showgrounds in Nairobi.
The PM Party, branded with the slogan “The Change We Need” and symbolized by a blue hummingbird logo, aims to present a youthful alternative to Kenya’s established political groups. It particularly seeks to engage the Gen Z demographic, which has become increasingly vocal in national politics.
Caleb Amisi, once a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), parted ways with the party after ODM decided to support President William Ruto’s re-election bid. This launch marks a significant shift in opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, as ODM dissidents like Amisi pursue independent political paths.
According to the invitation circulated to VIP guests, the National Delegates Convention (NDC) will serve as the formal platform for the party’s introduction. Attendees were requested to confirm their attendance by August 5 via official party contacts.
The party has been actively promoting itself through billboards across major towns, featuring the tagline “Tuko Chama, Je Wewe?” alongside its hummingbird emblem. This campaign aims to build momentum and public interest ahead of the launch event.
Registered in April after fulfilling all legal requirements, the PM Party has already established a presence in 24 counties with over 1,000 members. The party leadership describes the movement as a call for Kenya’s political, social, and economic rebirth, emphasizing resilience and agility as embodied by their hummingbird symbol.
Amisi has criticized the current administration for stalling national progress and is advocating for a comprehensive political reset in the upcoming elections. While he has yet to decide whether to seek re-election in Saboti or pursue a different seat, his party’s launch signals a bold new chapter in Kenya’s opposition landscape.
