Safaricom PLC has announced a historic dividend payout totaling Ksh 80.13 billion for the financial year ended March 31, 2026. This marks the largest shareholder return in the company's history following approval at the Annual General Meeting.

The final dividend of Ksh 1.15 per share complements an earlier interim dividend of Ksh 0.85 per share paid in March, bringing the total dividend for the year to Ksh 2.00 per share.

Safaricom's share price surged by 50.3% during the financial year, boosting the company’s market capitalization to Ksh 1.10 trillion by March 31, 2026. The market value has since climbed further, reaching Ksh 1.44 trillion ahead of the AGM.
