Safaricom has rolled out version 5.2.0 of its My OneApp for iPhone, introducing several new features designed to streamline account management and improve accessibility.
Key Features in the Update
- Lipa na Bonga: Users can now redeem their accumulated Bonga loyalty points directly within the app to pay for products and services, eliminating the need for separate menus or USSD codes.
- Dynamic Fonts: The app now adapts text size based on the iPhone’s accessibility and font settings, enhancing readability for users who prefer larger text.
- Roaming Management: Travelers can activate or deactivate roaming services directly through the app without contacting customer care.
- EA Roaming Bundle: This new bundle offers seamless connectivity across East African countries under a single plan, simplifying roaming for frequent regional travelers.
These enhancements reflect Safaricom’s effort to position My OneApp as a comprehensive account management tool rather than just a payment platform. By integrating loyalty rewards, accessibility options, and roaming controls, the app consolidates multiple services into one interface.
The update is currently available for iPhone users via the App Store. Android users can expect similar features soon, although Safaricom has not provided a specific release date.
