Nominated Senator Crystal Asige has urged persons with disabilities who applied for the Income Tax Exemption (ITE) programme to attend the vetting exercise according to the newly released schedule.

In a statement shared on July 31, 2026, Asige emphasized the importance of completing the vetting process within the timelines set by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD). She also encouraged Kenyans to share this information with eligible individuals.

Vetting Schedule

The vetting will take place in phases across various counties from August 10 to September 1, 2026. Key dates and venues include:

  • Kisii: August 10-11 at Kisii County Referral Hospital
  • Kisumu: August 12-13 at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital
  • Bungoma: August 14-15 at Bungoma County Referral Hospital
  • West Pokot: August 17 at Kapenguria Referral Hospital
  • Uasin Gishu: August 18-20 at Huruma Sub-County Hospital
  • Nakuru: August 21-22 at Nakuru County Referral Hospital
  • Garissa: August 10-11 at Garissa County Referral Hospital
  • Mombasa: August 13-15 at Tudor Sub-County Hospital
  • Machakos: August 17-18 at Machakos Level 5 Hospital
  • Nyeri: August 19-20 at Mt Kenya Sub-County Hospital
  • Isiolo: August 21-22 at Isiolo Level 5 Hospital
  • Nairobi: August 26 to September 1 at NCPWD headquarters, Westlands

The period from September 2 to 4 is reserved for appeal cases.

Application and Vetting Details

The NCPWD has announced that the eCitizen portal for ITE applications will close on August 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Only applicants who applied through eCitizen and have an application receipt will qualify for vetting.

Applicants must bring original documents submitted during application. Those with acquired disabilities are required to present a specialist report from a government hospital. Reporting time for vetting is strictly between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The vetting process is free of charge except for the official application fee paid via eCitizen. The council warns against any other payments.
