Tragedy struck on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway late Thursday evening, July 30, when a collision involving a trailer, a private van, and a 14-seater matatu resulted in six fatalities.

Among those who lost their lives were three students, according to initial reports. Emergency services responded promptly, rescuing injured passengers and transporting them to Plateau and Burnt Forest hospitals for urgent treatment.

The deceased were taken to the local morgue pending formal identification. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
