Authorities in Kisumu County have detained six individuals suspected of involvement in robbery activities after coordinated police operations in the Kibos, Kajulu, and Chiga areas.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 25 years, were apprehended in two separate hideouts where officers recovered various household goods believed to be stolen, including television sets, cooking gas cylinders, jerrycans, sofa sets, and powerful torches.

Evidence and Investigations

Police linked the suspects to a robbery incident in Kamurongo through preliminary investigations. A toy gun and clothing matching those captured on CCTV footage during the crime were also recovered. The recovered items have been secured as exhibits while investigations continue ahead of court arraignment.

Kisumu East Sub-County Police Commander Everline Cherotich emphasized the role of CCTV analysis in identifying the suspects and tracking stolen property. She stated that detectives are actively pursuing two additional suspects connected to robberies in the Kibos area.

Community Cooperation and Police Commitment

Commander Cherotich praised the local community for providing crucial intelligence that led to the arrests and urged continued collaboration to enhance security. She warned that police operations have been intensified across Kisumu County to deter criminal activities and assured that law enforcement will persist in efforts to bring offenders to justice.

The six suspects remain in custody at Kasagam Police Station as investigations proceed.
