Suba South Member of Parliament Caroli Omondi has openly criticized the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), declaring it politically defunct after it abandoned its core principles and agenda. Speaking on a local radio station on July 28, 2026, Omondi argued that ODM no longer represents the aspirations of its supporters but instead serves as a platform for personal enrichment.
Omondi’s Critique of ODM
"To be frank, ODM is dead," Omondi stated. He emphasized that a political party is more than just a name; it embodies values, objectives, and a manifesto. According to him, ODM has betrayed these foundational elements, undermining its credibility and purpose.
Linda Mwananchi Movement and Political Direction
Omondi is affiliated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, which opposes ODM's collaboration with President William Ruto's administration. He highlighted that many Kenyans support Linda Mwananchi's call for political change and stressed the need for clarity on the movement's future ahead of the August 2027 General Election.
"We must decide whether to transform Linda Mwananchi into a formal political party, as remaining within ODM is no longer viable," Omondi said.
Future Plans and Party Registration
