Authorities in Kisumu County have apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in a violent armed robbery at Kamrongo Estate. The incident involved armed assailants who broke into a residence, injuring one occupant and fleeing with various household items.
The National Police Service (NPS) confirmed that the arrests stemmed from investigations aided by CCTV footage, which captured three armed men using pangas, metal bars, and a firearm-like object during the break-in.
Following the initial arrest, the suspect cooperated with investigators, leading to the capture of two additional suspects in the Rabuor area. Despite these arrests, the primary suspect identified in the probe remains at large.
Searches at the suspects' hideouts yielded multiple recovered items, including a toy gun resembling a pistol, several SIM cards, tools thought to have been used to force entry, and rolls of bhang. A national identity card belonging to one of the victims was also recovered, further linking the suspects to the crime.
The detained suspects are currently held at Kasagam Police Station as investigations continue. Police have intensified efforts to locate the remaining suspect and urged the public to report any suspicious activity through official channels, including toll-free numbers and WhatsApp.
