Three individuals have been detained in connection with a violent home invasion that took place on July 30 in Kisumu County. Authorities are actively searching for a fourth suspect who escaped during a police operation.

The National Police Service reported that the suspects, armed with pangas, metal bars, and a pistol-like object, were recorded on CCTV forcibly entering a residence, stealing household goods, and injuring a resident.

Police Operation and Recovery

The investigation began with the arrest of one suspect, whose interrogation led officers to a property in Rabuor. A raid on the location resulted in the apprehension of two additional suspects, though the primary target fled before capture.

During the search, officers recovered multiple stolen items, a toy gun resembling a pistol, numerous SIM cards, burglary tools, and rolls of bhang. A subsequent search of another rented property connected to the suspects yielded more stolen goods, including a national ID card belonging to one of the victims, potentially aiding the case.

Ongoing Investigations

  • The three suspects are currently held at Kasagam Police Station.
  • Authorities continue efforts to locate the remaining suspect.
  • Investigations aim to recover additional stolen property and determine any links to other robbery cases.

The police have intensified their manhunt to ensure all involved are brought to justice and to prevent further criminal activity in the region.
