A two-year-old boy lost his life after falling into an uncovered well while fetching water in Kalenda Village, Kabras West Sub-County, Kakamega County.

The child's grandmother reported the incident on Monday. Authorities responded promptly and retrieved the boy from the water, but he was declared dead at the scene. Police noted that the body showed no visible external injuries.

The deceased was taken to Kakamega Orthopaedic Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is pending as investigations continue.
