Authorities are investigating the sudden death of a 20-year-old female university student discovered unconscious in a bathroom at a residential property in Mwihoko, Githurai Subcounty, Kiambu County.

The deceased, Brendah Chepkemoi, was a student at Kiriri Women’s University. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon at around 3 pm when residents heard screams coming from the bathroom. Upon forcing the door open, they found her unconscious and immediately rushed her to Sinai Medical Facility in Mwihoko Discovery, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police conducted a preliminary examination at the scene and hospital, noting that Brendah had entered the bathroom but had not undressed, suggesting she did not intend to shower before collapsing. No visible external injuries were found, and crime scene investigators processed the area.

The body was transferred to Nairobi City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will determine the exact cause of death. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding her sudden death are ongoing.
