Wambani Valerie, a University of Nairobi graduate in Medicine and Surgery, has publicly shared her academic and professional journey that led her to become a qualified Medical Officer.
Her story began with impressive early academic achievements, scoring 367 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and securing an A plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). These results earned her admission to the University of Nairobi, where she pursued a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree.

Wambani candidly described the demanding nature of medical school and the rigorous internship period that followed. She emphasized that resilience, patience, and persistence were key to overcoming the challenges she faced on her path to qualification.
Looking Ahead
Far from resting on her laurels, Wambani has set her sights on specialising in General Surgery. She views this next step as a natural progression that will allow her to deepen her clinical skills and have a greater impact on patient care.
