Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel and his Turkish fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, have revealed they are expecting their first child together. The announcement took place during Kartel's headline set at the Reggae Land 2026 festival in Milton Keynes, UK.

Midway through his performance, Kartel invited Sidem on stage. As his popular song "Come Breed Me" played, he gently placed his hand on her baby bump, prompting cheers from the crowd.

The Couple's Journey

Their relationship began in 2015 under unique circumstances. Sidem first connected with Kartel while he was imprisoned in Jamaica, initiating contact through letters and messages. In 2019, she visited him in prison, and their bond strengthened over time.

Kartel proposed to Sidem during a 2022 prison visit. After his release in July 2024, the couple marked a new chapter with a second engagement in November 2024. Since then, they have traveled together and shared updates about their life and upcoming wedding plans.

The pregnancy announcement marks a significant milestone in their nearly decade-long relationship, which has endured distance, incarceration, and international borders.
