Legendary tennis duo Serena and Venus Williams are set to reunite on the doubles court at the upcoming Cincinnati Masters, receiving a wild card entry for the August 8-23 tournament.
The sisters, who have an impressive record of 14 Grand Slam doubles titles and three Olympic gold medals together, last competed as a doubles pair at the 2022 US Open. Their return at Cincinnati marks a significant moment ahead of the US Open.
Venus Williams will also compete in the singles draw, while Serena, a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, recently made her singles comeback at Wimbledon after a four-year hiatus. She withdrew from doubles at Wimbledon due to a knee injury but is now preparing for the hard court event in Cincinnati.
Serena has previously won the Cincinnati singles title twice, in 2014 and 2015, and last appeared at the tournament in 2022.
Other Wild Card Entrants
- On the women's side, wild cards were also awarded to 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens, Taylor Townsend, Caroline Dolehide, and Elvina Kalieva.
- Additional singles wild cards include Czech player Darja Vidmanova and France's Lois Boisson.
