The Wiper Patriotic Front has dismissed as counterfeit a letter circulating online that alleged party leader Kalonzo Musyoka would declare a new political direction ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, the party warned the public and supporters against being misled by the document, which falsely invited journalists to a press conference where Kalonzo was purported to address the nation on his political plans and Kenya’s leadership.
Wiper Party emphasized:
- The letter is fake and did not originate from the party.
- Kalonzo Musyoka remains fully committed to the opposition’s WANTAM Movement.
- The opposition alliance aims to remove the current regime and should not be distracted by false propaganda.
The forged letter, dated July 28, 2026, bore Wiper branding and claimed Kalonzo would speak at the SKM Command Centre in Karen about shifting political alliances and the future leadership of Kenya. It also included a fake communications contact.
Wiper’s clarification comes amidst intensified political activities as the opposition, under the WANTAM Movement, continues to campaign against President William Ruto’s administration. Kalonzo and fellow opposition leaders have engaged in rallies, town halls, and public forums nationwide, critiquing government policies on the economy, governance, and cost of living.
Kalonzo has consistently maintained the unity of the opposition despite speculation about potential realignments. He urges supporters to focus on building a broad coalition to offer Kenyans an alternative leadership in the 2027 polls.
Recently, Kalonzo has appeared alongside leaders such as former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa, and Martha Karua of the People’s Liberation Party, reinforcing calls for unity and change.
