During a meeting at State House Nairobi on Monday, Nicholas Bunere, a youth leader from the Friends Church, made a memorable request to President William Ruto that drew laughter from the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Bunere shared that it was his first visit to State House and noted the organised nature of the event compared to others he had seen on television. He then asked, "As I leave here, let your security allow me to greet you for God to bless you."
President Ruto responded with a broad smile and immediately stood to warmly shake hands with Bunere, exchanging a few words and smiles during the brief interaction.
Following this, Bunere greeted other notable leaders present, including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Friends Church National Presiding Clerk Stephen Magwili, before returning to his seat.
Appreciation and Prayers for Youth Opportunities
Earlier in his speech, Bunere thanked President Ruto for hosting members of the Friends Church, highlighting the gesture as a sign of humility and respect. He commended government efforts to enhance employment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
He urged the President to continue creating job opportunities for young people, emphasizing their need for sustainable livelihoods. Bunere also conveyed that millions of young Kenyans within the Friends Church and nationwide are praying for and supporting the President’s leadership.
