President William Ruto has appointed Charles Owino Wahong’o as the new Government Spokesperson, succeeding Isaac Mwaura who has been promoted to lead the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Rights within the Executive Office of the President.

The appointment was part of a broader executive reshuffle announced through a directive by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei. The Public Service Commission approved several promotions and redeployments affecting senior officials across government departments.

Charles Owino, previously serving at the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy and known for his role as a former Police Spokesperson, has been redeployed to the Executive Office of the President where he will act as Head of Government Communications.
