CSs Announce Key Leadership Changes at NTSA, KWS, and Other State Agencies
Several Cabinet Secretaries have made fresh appointments to leadership positions at NTSA, KWS, Intelligence Service Complaints Board, and other state bodies.
Multiple Cabinet Secretaries have announced new appointments and reappointments across key government agencies, effective from August 21, 2026.
NTSA Board Appointment
Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir appointed Stephen Mutai as a member of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Board for a three-year term.
KWS Leadership Renewal
Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano reappointed Professor Erastus Mutembei Kanga as Director-General of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) for an additional three years. Professor Kanga will continue leading the agency in its wildlife conservation efforts.
Intelligence Service Complaints Board Reshuffle
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen named Joseph Gitonga Riungu as Chairperson of the Intelligence Service Complaints Board. The board also includes Naema Ibrahim Somo, Lawrence Nyalle, businessman and former Homa Bay gubernatorial candidate Samwel Owino Wakiaga, and Charity Kagwi Ndung’u, all appointed for three-year terms.
Other Notable Appointments
- Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi renewed the terms of Patrick Kimemia Ndirangu, Lucy Chepkemoi, Amos Simiyu Makokha, and Ali Mohamed Haji on the Public Procurement Regulatory Board.
- Five new members were named to the Railway Development Levy Fund Board.
- Professor Wanyama Musiambo was reappointed Chairperson of the Board of Governors at Bukura Agricultural College for three years.
- Additional appointments were made to the Protective Security Wages Council, National Labour Board, Pest Control Products Board, Technopolis Development Authority, and the Street Families Rehabilitation Trust Fund.
