Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna received spontaneous cash contributions from residents of Kiminini during a Linda Mwananchi rally held in Trans Nzoia on Sunday, July 27. The donations highlighted the community's grassroots support for his political journey.

Speaking at the event, Sifuna expressed his preference for collecting small donations from ordinary Kenyans rather than accepting large sums from wealthy individuals with potential political strings attached. He stated, "I would rather have KSh 10 from wananchi than accept millions from a handful of rich people who will later come to collect political favours."

The senator argued that relying on mass contributions helps maintain accountability to the public instead of a select few influential donors, whose interests may conflict with those of the broader population once a leader assumes office.

Fuel Price Reduction Pledge

During the rally, Sifuna also pledged to reduce fuel prices by KSh 10 as a direct way to repay the trust placed in him by ordinary Kenyans. This promise is part of his broader commitment to delivering tangible benefits to the public.

Sifuna's appearance in Kiminini comes amid heightened speculation about his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election. The Linda Mwananchi rallies serve as a platform for him to expand his national profile beyond Nairobi.
