Zambian authorities have dismissed widespread social media rumors suggesting that 25-year-old model and socialite Lisa Mutalu was beaten before her unexpected death on August 20, 2026.
According to police reports, Mutalu spent her last evening at a Lusaka hotel with two female friends. Around 10:30 pm, the group moved to a second social venue in the city. Early the next morning, her boyfriend, Caleb Lisa, also known as Andrea, picked them up, dropped off the friends, and took Mutalu home in the Kalundu area.
Upon arrival, Mutalu experienced severe vomiting and eventually lost consciousness. Caleb sought help from a friend, and they rushed her to Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police conducted thorough investigations at both locations and examined Mutalu's body, finding no signs of physical trauma. This directly contradicts circulating claims that she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
A formal postmortem is underway at the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary in Lusaka to establish the exact cause of death. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her sudden passing remains active.
Prior to her death, Lisa Mutalu shared an Instagram post featuring her boyfriend, which has since drawn emotional responses from followers reflecting on her life and untimely demise.
